City to Constructs Park and Ride Facility in Cawang

Jakarta Provincial Government is about to construct park and ride facility in Cawang, East Jakarta. This step is expected to facilitate mobility and access for the public in using public transportation.

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung explained the construction of park and ride facilities in Cawang is based on the high enthusiasm of the community for existing transportation services.

"We've held a meeting to discuss about it. This facility construction aims to easy people accessing public transportation," Pramono explained, Wednesday (6/4).

Transjabodetabek Sawangan-Lebak Bulus Officially Operating

Cawang is a strategic location since it has several routes of Transjakarta and Transjabodetabek. This integration system surely eases people accessing many places.

"People can go from Bekasi to Cawang, Cawang to Ancol or Blok M, or Blok M to PIK, and so on," he added.

Pramono believes park and ride facility in Cawang and the Transjabodetabek service extension may solve traffic congestion in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Transjabodetabek Sawangan-Lebak Bulus route has officially started operating today. The addition of new Transjabodetabek routes is also implemented by considering the high needs of the community on this route.

He gave an example of the public's enthusiasm for the Transjabodetabek Alam Sutera-Blok M and PIK 2-Blok M routes which were very high and exceeded expectations.

"The increase is almost double," he continued.

Moreover, Pramono will also launch another new route from Bogor to Blok M and Ancol to Blok M.

According to him, Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing Blok M as new transportation hub due to its strategic area.

"We're preparing new hub in Blok M," he stated.
